Anyone here played D&D before?

I'm not all up with the 4e rules but I used to play a lot when I was younger. Anyone familiar with the basic concept of the game at least?

admin: No? What is it?

Pinkie: Dungeons and Dragons. Little acronym, could be a local thing (not sure).

admin: Dungeons and Dragons okay hm. Nope. What is D&D like then?

Pinkie: It's a role-playing game. All the players pretend to be various heroes, and somebody called the dungeon master gives them challenges to face, like big scary monsters. From time to time, like during a fight, you roll dice to work out how well you do. The main point of the game is to develop your character, make them increasingly awesome etc.

It's actually surprisingly fun.

admin: It sounds lameish.

nzlockie: My adventures usually started: One day, while hanging out at the tavern, you spot a discarded map with a great big red X on it.

I found my players always went to the X.
