The Raj, Hari Singh, was skeptical of both option (A) and option(B). He knew that his Hindu administration wanted to go with option (A), but the vast Muslim majority would revolt if the kingdom went the course of option(B). Raj Singh, inspired by the independence of the Swiss nation, knew that the only way to keep his kindgom from collapsing was to make it an independent entity, therefore, he went with option (C).

The Raj, formulated an agreement that went to both India and Pakistan. Asking for political independence from both influencing groups. Pakistan, accepted the agreement, officially recognizing the nation of Jammu and Kashmir. India, was less accepting, denying the independence of the new state. [1] [2]

Shortly after the Partition diaspora, the British instigated a tribal revolt, in an attempt to resolve the conflict. The natives, quickly disposed of J/K administration, and acceded to Pakistan. The south, also was led into a revolt (suspiciously), and quickly took down Jammu governors. Hari, fearing his nation would descend into complete dissolution, called for both nations to send troops. Pakistan's British high command, refused to send troops. He appealed to India. Their stance was clear though. They would not send troops unless J/K accedes. Hari agreed, and signed the instrument of Ascension. [3] [4]

Demographics

In order to make my case, I have to provide vital reasoning on why Jammu and Kashmir, is in better hands with Pakistan. Here are a few statistics......

(A) 97% of the Kashmir valley practices Islam

(B) 67% of the state is Muslim

(C) Only 29% of the state is Hindu

(D) 74% of the whole Kashmir region is Islam

(E) 24% of the population is Hindu

Examination

You might be asking, what do these demographics symbolize? Obviously, that Kashmir has an extreme Muslim majority. As point(A)shows, the region is 67% Islam. Now I did not directly cite terrorism, but here are a few things we learned from the 1,500,000 refugees living in Pakistan. [5]

(C1)Therefore, Indian presence in the region is causing net-harm

This resolution will stand, unless my opponent defeats, that this contention is not synonymous. My opponent may try to argue a ploy, that both nations are secular, but he's sorely mistaken. Its no secret that Muslims in Pakistan get more rights, freedoms, and governance designed around their beliefs. Its vice versa for India. I am not implying that either nation restricts rights from religious minorities, but have governments and laws designed to protect their respective religions. [6]
