That Christianity is based on a myth from ancient superstitions

At the heart of Christianity we find the story of Jesus and the Bible, claimed to be the word of God. 

A good start to demonstrate that the foundation of Christianity - the Bible - is a myth, is to show that at least a part of it is mythical. Being around 800,000 words long, it would take months to discuss all of the Bible's stories. Just like it is not necessary to prove that every statement made by a liar is a lie, it is not necessary to invalidate all stories in the Bible.

In my opening statement I will demonstrate that one of the Bible's stories, the story of Noah's Ark ,is a myth.

Genesis 7:2 mentions seven pairs of every kind of clean animal but we will use here two of each animal and naturally, animals include insects, which form an important part of the food chain.

The task of collecting, holding for a year and dispersing millions of animals and insects is so phenomenal that in today's world with far more advanced technology such as air transportation, robotics and refrigeration, we would not be able to achieve it. One of the stumbling blocks would be the species of animals, fish and insects on earth today that we have not yet discovered. It would be difficult to collect them if we do not know where they are.

The first problem of logistics Noah would have encountered is how to gather all the animals, including Kangaroos from Australia and Penguins from Antarctica.

The next problem would have been holding all the species on one boat. Lions need an enclosure separate from zebras or sheep and they also need a lot of meat to survive for a year. How was the meat stored and kept fresh? The total size of all the enclosures needed to hold all the animals would not fit, even on several Arks. The labour involved in keeping all those animals alive would be far greater than what the eight human beings on the Ark could achieve. Animals get sick, particularly in captivity and the amount of veterinary care needed to keep all pairs of animals alive would have been beyond the capabilities of anyone on the Ark. 

The last problem would have been the dispersion of all animals after the flood. How to return the Kangaroos to Australia and the Penguin to Antarctica? Then there is the issue of growing hardwood trees so that the insects that feed on it can survive. However, it takes so long to grow a tree that the insects dependent on it would be dead before it grows.

Apart from the above problems, there are major issues in the flood claim itself. Today's science has established beyond doubt that there was no global floods at the time of Noah. If the world was totally covered with water as claimed, how much water would it need to cover all the mountains of the world? Where is this water today?

Many cultures and religions predating Christianity have incorporated a flood myth in their story. The flood myth usually marks a new beginning for humanity. Flood stories are found in Mesopotamian and Hindu mythologies among others. 

We can tell with certainty that the story of Noah's Ark could not have happened. It is not the only false story in the Bible but it certainly is an indication that the "word of God" may be in fact the word of men who set out to create a myth by borrowing and embellishing from other religions.
