Locked Threads

Why does the site automatically lock threads after 3 months of inactivity? As a relatively new member here, there are some threads I'd like to respond to, but can't since they're locked.

ColeTrain: "I will start by unlocking them for you then."

I wish I could say that but I can't. Either way many of those locked threads are by members who have disappeared or went back to that other place that will not be named. Why do you want to respond to dead threads?

ColeTrain: It was actually a user feature request to prevent necroposting.

True Capitalist Acolyte: Lol, there are just some I find interesting, and don't see the need to start a new discussion when some of the points have already been mentioned... Idk, I guess I could make new threads. I just feel like I'd be spamming if I did so.

admin: Hmm. I really don't see what's *wrong* with necroposting -- especially if it's a new user wishing to open discussion. Besides, I enjoy looking at things from history (the past of Edeb8) and reviving discussion. Lol.

ColeTrain: You can always make a new thread on the same topic

admin: Fair enough. I just think it's a waste to all the discussion that was done previously. Oh well, I'll set about doing so... don't get mad at me for spamming
