Please excuse me as I'm not super creative when it comes to forum signatures.
Admin can you see the two pics I posted above? I copied the link from my dropbox but it doesn't appear on my screen.
Is there an alternate way to post an image than a url link?
Will THIS work?

1. Yes. I'll add that at some point probably.
2. No. The reason this isn't feasible is because the header actually uses a small graphic (gasp) which I have to adjust whenever a new color is added.

I can see your images by right clicking on the broken image icon and choosing to open the image in a new tab. Nice btw!
Dropbox is weird about hotlinking stuff.
The problem with letting you post an image another way is that the image still needs to be stored
somewhere
and I really don't have the resources to make edeb8 an image host.

Maybe the default background can be the flag of whatever nationality the person chooses when signing up?

I had a thought this morning.
A few people have complained that the heading font is too boring/could use some fancy effects (like gradients and stuff). So how about people suggest a (free) font that I could use instead!
Some places to look:
http://www.dafont.com/
http://www.urbanfonts.com/
http://www.1001fonts.com/
https://www.google.com/fonts
Then we might do some trials of a few suggestions to see what works best for most people.

I was thinking about the header font and I realized that font is always going to be based on a personal preference; you can’t make everyone happy when creating a header.
I personally love my handwriting, mostly because I’ve spent over 200 hours sitting still, trying to perfect my cursive, print, and calligraphy (if you’ve ever joined a debate.org video call you’d note I can’t sit still for my life). So because my handwriting is so important to me I tend to lean towards fonts that have the qualities that my handwriting has, like thick , dark lines, straight capital “E”s, looped shafts on my letter “d”s and “b”s, slanted and curly lower case “e”s, and circular and loopy “8”s. So the minute I saw this “Perfect Heading Font Search” I sat there for a half an hour and went through a few hundred fonts looking for the most “Rebekah Like” font that screams professional, easy to read, fun, and debate like, font I could I came up with these (and a few that are out of my comfort zone) that you should look into:
http://www.dafont.com/orange-juice.font?fpp=100&psize=s&text=Edeb8
http://www.dafont.com/last-king-quest.font?fpp=100&psize=s&text=Edeb8
http://www.dafont.com/mathilde.font?fpp=100&psize=s&text=Edeb8
http://www.dafont.com/claire-hand.font?fpp=100&psize=s&text=Edeb8
(This is probably my personal favorite most likely wouldn’t work for this though)
http://www.dafont.com/kill-the-noise.font?fpp=100&psize=s&text=Edeb8
http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Vintage.htm
Here are some for starters.

Exactly what are you planning on using this font on - the logo? The entire header bar? The headings within Edeb8? The actual posts themselves?
Personally I haven't heard too many people complain about the FONT as such, it's more the general aesthetics of the site - something I think you've addressed with the recent design changes.
Out of Pinkie's fonts I like the Claire-hand one the best, but my problem with using handwriting fonts for something like a site is that they tend to make the site look too personal and informal. I would favour a font like Arial, Century-Gothic or Verdana. The only stipulation I'd make is that it should be a sans-serif font.
In other words, I'm happiest with the Status Quo - UNLESS this is a customisable feature you're talking about. If I were able to select a font that only I would view then I'd say go ahead and submit a bunch of different fonts.
A number of forums I belong to also let you customise the look of your personal profile page. These customisations can be viewed by everyone else. Would THAT be possible here? You already kind of do it with the design options available for groups...

It's possible. Got anything specific you want to show on your profile page?

Well I quite like the look of my NZ Flag background, so I'd like that to be there. I like my complimentary header colours and if I had the choice, I'd change the fonts of the various headings and text on that page as well to something a bit more casual.
Given half a chance I'd also probably change the background shading of some of the text boxes as well.
