So, why do we think the status quo is problematic?
Two things, first, women wants to abort for some severe reason, maybe it's because of rape, forced incest, academic purposes, social reasons, etc. In such, forcing the women to have that baby will have severe impacts over the women.
Second, because, even if the state bans abortion, it will always happen but in unethical, unhealthy, unsterilized manner, which will pose various threats to the mother.
